I have gratefully practiced yoga for thirty years and it has helped me learn to manage the challenges of life on and off the mat. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, throughout my treatment and recovery, I found solace and emotional and physical strength in my yoga practice. I love sharing these tools with others. I have been studying movement since childhood and I have trained in dance and hold bachelors degree in dance education. After graduating form Hunter College and leaving my dance career behind, I decided to pursue a masters degree in counseling and consulting psychology from Harvard University. I worked as a school psychologist for twenty three years and have found that my training as a psychotherapist helps to inform my life and work as a Yoga Therapist . My yoga classes blend yogic philosophy, breath work, physical postures and restorative and yin yoga to enable my students to adapt their practice to their bodies and lives. I live in Westchester County New York with my husband. We have two children and are graced with two wonderful grandchildren. Our son is a Green builder in Vermont and our daughter and son-in-law and her two little ones live in New York City.
I am astounded by our grand potential to thrive; individually, collectively, locally and globally! Nothing gets me more more in tune with how reachable that success is by focusing inward, on the breath, the body, the mind and all its inner-workings that all work so harmoniously to sustain our life and our reality as it stands (or sits). It would be a pleasure and an honor to assist and guide you to a state of well being and abundance that is truly your natural birthright. It's about taking the first step and then keep stepping, and keep showing up; consistency is key!
